Architect's fees are traditionally calculated on a percentage cost basis, but this in not appropriate for most of our very varied workload.

There is no charge for the initial meeting to discuss your project, following this we will provide you with a fee quote - either on a percentage basis, but more usually we give you a range within which we feel time charges will fall.  You will be advised in good time if a change in circumstances might affect the quoted fee.  On acceptance of our fee quote we require payment of a retainer, typically 10% to 15% of the agreed fee - this is set against the first fee account raised.

The fee quote - the Architects Engagement - will also detail the extent of our works and the likely disbursements involved. With the advent of making planning and building regulations applications "on line" the bill for paper prints has reduced considerably - client/architect communication by email also helps us keep these costs down.

Fee accounts will be submitted monthly or at agreed suitable intervals.  Fees are to be paid within 30 days and, should a payment be delayed beyond 45 days, that project is put on hold.

We accept payments by cheque, inter-bank transfer or by card.

Our fees are subject to VAT.  Our VAT Registration No. is  GB 790 1810 35

We ask clients to provide cheques, made out to the local authority or service providers [not to us], to cover planning and other application fees.

If specialist consultants are involved on a project, they will bill our clients direct.

We carry professional indemnity insurance of £500,000.00.
